I have been shooting the 7-6.5 prcw for almost two years now. I recently purchased the 7 max reamer, adg brass, dies and all the other things needed to take on a new cartridge. As I look at the two loaded rounds side by side, they are really not all that different. So my next project is to try and fireform some lapua 6.5prc brass to fit my 7 max chamber.

Has anyone tried this yet? If so, how did it go? To be clear, I have not tried it yet, but really think it'll work. Will I be ending up with the 7 FCP? I believe it has a 40 degree shoulder. The 7 max looks like a straight walled, 40 degree shoulder version of the 6.5PRC.

My 7PRCW2 is a .316 neck so I have to turn the brass.

My 7 max is a no turn neck, .320 ish I think.

So I will use new lapua brass unturned.
